Tuesday, March 1, 2022 - I agree with the other reviewer's description - 'softer style of Syrah meets Primitivo' - However, that description doesn't sound appealing and this wine is not doing anything for me. It feels too dense and sweet - borderline jammy with a slightly tarry edge (I would have guessed more than the 13.5% abv). The only other Lagrein I've tried is the Muri-Gries 2018 and wasn't sure about that either (despite JG's enthusiasm).... Also reminds me a bit of 2018 Cru Beaujolais but with more extraction...Hmmm - I need to try different vintages and / or these with more bottle age, so won't score, but I can't say I liked this - at all - even on the second day (and had no desire to finish the bottle)
