Wednesday, March 30, 2022 - For a wine that is 5 years past its suggested drinking window this was a very pleasant surprise to find at the back of my cellar. Popped and poured minimal staining on the side of the cork, beautiful tawny colour. Strawberries and a little mushroom/ farmyard on the nose. Red fruits and a hint of damson in the mouth, sweet tanins and nicely balanced acidity with good length for a Bourgogne. Encourages me that the 2005 Les Suchot from this producer will eventually open up. One of the joys of not keeping perfect track of what’s in the cellar.
