Sunday, April 24, 2022 - Decanted for approximately 90 minutes then poured back into the bottle and consumed out of Grassl 1855 over approximately 2 hours. The wine was paired with a Flannery Midwestern Hanger Steak.

The aromas were of dried flowers, red fruits, cocoa and tobacco. The palate is of red tart cherries, black cherries, blueberries, licorice and minerality. There is medium+ acidity with medium rustic tannins. The body is medium to medium-full. It has nice upfront appeal but lacks a little in the mid-palate.

The wine is enjoyable today but will benefit by a point or 2 with a little more cellar age. With another year or 2, the tannins should be more integrated and the the wine should be more balanced.
