6/11/2022 10:25:00 AM - Ok, I make it more precise then. In the affordable space.

David, I did read the notes, narrowed to champagne and ordered by score, but rarity and price of wines reviewed make them impossible to find or to buy today unless you are billionaire. Hence my direct question for some insights

Can I suggest a few non ox styled Growers.

Vouette Sorbet, Marie Courtin, Benoit Marguet and Pouillon.

6/11/2022 11:26:00 AM - Thanks David! Luckily I bought the first you say in the last few years, will look for the other 3 growers now as I haven't heard of them yet, so keen to try! Thanks!

6/11/2022 6:56:00 PM - Interesting comments gentlemen. First, I'm not much of a champagne drinker (308 versus 3,839 Burgundy notes), thus take my views with a grain of salt. Second, I prefer freshness, energy and tension over the oxidative and brioche house style often prevalent. Third, I've not made the effort to try numerous growers but do find Chartogne-Taillet appealing in style and ethos if that's helpful. Among the big houses, Salon is what I accumulate.

6/12/2022 2:54:00 AM - Thank you, I have some Orizeaux of Chartogne-Taillet, and it is priced very decently for now. And thus will look to try other wines from this house. I would love to try Salon but out of my budget for now...

6/12/2022 3:46:00 AM - Quite like Sainte Anne from Chartogne-Taillet. Also like Fac-Simile, but suddenly very pricey. For something different, Egly's Ambonnay red is delicious.
