Saturday, June 11, 2022 - Jim's Retirement Party (Libertyville, IL): From magnum, opened and double decanted several hours earlier. Ripe and fleshy cherry, slightly more black than red, with lots of spice but also still showing a bit too much new oak. Very good density, this clearly showed its Grand Cru pedigree, but in their first vintage, d'Eugenie was less successful showcasing the wine's Vosne terroir.
