Tuesday, July 14, 2020 - Well, this is a grape I can't recall having tasted or seen so I was naturally intrigued. This is 100% Ruche and I'm not familiar with the grape at all. It poured a darker ruby color and was aromatic with a real savory backdrop of roasted herbs, licorice, plums, sour red cherries, raspberries, violets, roses, leather, and some tobacco notes. I was given this blind and my mind really quickly went to Barbera as the grape as there was no way that I was going to "get" this at all. This showed off a textured, Medium bodied feel with crisp, medium+ acidity and silky, medium tannins. This was a really fun wine to try and it was great to have as a data point. I have no clue when and where I may come across this grape again, but I certainly hope I do!
