Saturday, July 2, 2022 - While delicious, i have to say, I was just a tad bit disappointed with the estate cab this time around. Normally pretty damn good, but the 2016 was missing a little something. I think there was a lack of a mid palate, and the finish was a little short with a little bit of a drying quality. Great flavor profile as usual, with dark cherries, plum, blueberry, clove, lavender and a bouquet garni of bay leaf, rosemary, thyme. Also some leather and tobacco on the palate. I just wish there was just a little more flesh and stuffing, otherwise, another solid effort. I don't think this will improve much with age and is in a great drinking spot right now. Sure, the tannins will eventually resolve, but again, because there wasn't much fleshiness and mid-palate, this will only get more interesting with age, but not necessarily "better."
