Friday, July 8, 2022 - Decanted for around an hour. Deep ruby in color. Maraschino cherries, licorice, and assorted black fruits on the nose. Heavy bodied, medium acidity, and herbal. Palate starts off with leather, dark black cherries, blackberries. It then turns quickly herbal with thyme and licorice. Medium tannins bring in cocoa. Finish is hot and continues down the same profile with a bit of graphite added.

This is a blend of Cab Franc, Merlot, Petite Verdot, Cab Sauv, and Syrah. A little more acidity would help this wine. It falls under the umbrella of wines I like but only one glass at the right time. Maybe more age away would help.
