Saturday, August 6, 2022 - On this bottle, the cork was saturated to the top with some mold around its perimeter. Decanted and poured, showing some sediment. On the palate, this was surprisingly full for a Loire cab franc with none of the expected green/bell pepper flavors. I don't have enough experience with the vintner to know if that is a function of the vintage or house style.

    8/8/2022 7:50:00 AM - Definitely a function of vintage. Guion tends to make leaner, somewhat hard wines with a strong mineral element, which typically take time to soften, at least 10 years IMO, but the 2018s (and likely 2019, 2020) are showing more of their vintage warmth.
