Thursday, August 11, 2022 - Forward nose of ripe blueberries and plums, with overtones of vanilla oak, dark chocolate peppered with spices and smoked meats. Very bold and has strong traits of a Barossa Shiraz. Palate echoed the nose with prominent spicy sweet fruits. Deep and long full-bodied mid-palate, leading to a rounded but hot finish. This is so classic of the Shiraz from Victoria. This is a Shiraz which is not shy of its qualities, it may not have the balance or finesse of the best Shiraz, the outgoing and showy personalities will appeal to many. Drink this with some decanting for the wine to open up its finer elements. A candidate for at least a decade of aging ability.
