Saturday, November 17, 2012 - Drank with Sable at Provencal. Fairly light red ruby color. Nose very aromatic, floral with violets. The wine is fairly light bodied, sweet ripe dark fruits, which I found somewhat seductive. Strong notes of pepper were the overriding tastes that hit me at first. This was followed by dark cherries which were pretty straight forward, mixed with a definite earthiness and good acidity. The wine struck me as more youthful than I would have expected, and not a particularly complex one nor one exhibiting its particular terror--which I found to be unfortunate. I'm discovering that Le Moine's style is more of the modern variety, and this wine is a good example of that style. I look forward to tasting this one again in the future to see its development.
