Sunday, October 13, 2013 - Popped and poured. Shows a lot of bright, ripe red berries on the nose, also plenty of spicy white pepper, garrigue, and a bit of wood. Intense on the palate, with lots of tannin and acidity. This is a good thing though, as it helps balance the ripeness. Still, I got the sense that this is still 4-6 years from peak, at least. It's overly tannic and acidic in terms of balance. A very well made wine and one with plenty of potential. Paired nicely with New York steak.
