Tuesday, July 8, 2014 - Popped and poured. Wife's free bottle from Hyatt sommelier.
Appearance is clear, medium intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of sweet ripe red fruit - raspberry, strawberry, and some leathery notes. Developed.
On the palate, dry, medium- acidity, medium+ alcohol, velvety medium tannins, full body. Pronounced flavor intensity, with flavours of ripe raspberry, strawberry, redcurrant jam, licorice, peppery spice, medicinal/Provencal herbs, toasted oak, and leather. Medium- finish.
Very good quality Cotes du Rhone. More rich and full-bodied than the usual CdR, and well-balanced at this age. Showing signs of age, this is not built to last, enjoy this now and over the next 2-3 years while the rich fruit is still alive.
Mourvèdre, Grenache, Cinsault, and Syrah.
