Sunday, February 26, 2017 - Mature, but still well within it's drinking window, this taster was charmed by the sensory arc Beringer's 1986 Napa Valley Cabernet presented plum sauce, beef jerky, and leather followed by more ethereal notes of spearmint, sarsaparilla and dried flowers. With a mantle that is decidedly garnet, and brickish at the rim, it's still round and generously fruited with fine, well defined mid-and-fore palate tannins effortlessly twining flavors of black currants, black tea, and cracked black pepper at the close.
