Saturday, October 3, 2015 - Our neighborhood wine club gathered to compare CH cabs. I thought it would be interesting to have a 'Century Smack-Down' by comparing lots #200, 300, 400 and 500. I decanted each bottle three hrs then re-bottled. We tasted in random blind fashion with enough left over to retry. In addition to rank ordering favorites, we asked to pick the oldest. Amazingly, one person ranked all four in sequential year order (dumb luck Carl?).

Interestingly, 1st place votes were evenly distributed, but after adding all votes, Lot #300 was deemed the night's winner. Splitting hairs between 90 pt CT-scored wines was challenging, but someone had to do it :) We heard Lot #600 is on its way.
