90 Points

Thursday, June 20, 2013 - Blind tasted as part of the BBR Wine Game. Needs decanting.
The wine is a next dimension of a Chateauneuf du Pape. It is a CdP with a California side to it. Riper fruit, a touch burned fruit, more alc and although his say 14.5% on it is prob closer to a 15%. Good wine still and expresses the area with no need of oak here. Syrah dominates but there is also the early roundness of Grenache. Spice, earthy notes at time a lots of dark ripe fruit. Big wine but does not feel overdone. 90-91 and with good life ahead of it.
