Friday, June 20, 2014 - 40% Mourvedre, 28% Syrah, 27% Grenache, 5% Counoise. 14.5% alcohol.

Color: medium/deep purple core -> medium ruby rim. Moderately complex bouquet showing plums, cherries, prairie dust, rosemary and a little anisette. Medium weight palate showing some admirable CdP-like austerity. Licorice, black fruit, spice and some earthiness along with semi-sweet fruit (more so than CdP). This is really quite nice; good tannin and acid structure -- I can see this aging gracefully. Reminiscent of the '06, just (obviously) younger.
