Friday, November 11, 2011 - Agree with the other poster (2009 Ten review) re: limited experience with Sea Smoke, their reputation, "fruit bomb" style, etc. Also agree that the wine was more Burgundian. And I, too, was impressed. Quite tight, opened nicely after 4 hours. Sour and thin initial pop-and-pour replaced by round, strawberry, slight mineral and pie spice. Nice mouthfeel, fresh acid, good integration from front of mouth to mid-palate to finish. Finish quite enjoyable, reasonably long, and balanced throughout. Very excited by the potential and more excited that it wasn't what I expected. Much, much better in my opinion that SLH Pinot styles I've had too much of recently.
