Tuesday, December 27, 2011 - pop and pour at cellar temperature. Immediate mix of sweet and tart cherry with a little cranberry. No overt alcohol, but it's cold right now. As it warms the alcohol is more evident and some of the Sea Smoke icee/cotton candy. I still like the style--they have backed off on the extraction. Some smoky caramel, a little clove and a nice minty herbal note. HRH says, "pomegranate"--SCORE. I think it has really cool complexity but the alcohol is a little out of balance on the finish. Once you get past the alcohol, the finish goes long. Even with the balance issue, I wouldn't kick it out of the cellar.
