Saturday, March 22, 2014 - Plastic cork. Nothing on the nose except vinegar immediately on opening. On the palate; PnP = vinegar, 15min-1hr = heat - pepper, >1hr = plum. This wine, as suggested below, needed decantation (~1hr) but only held its flavour and complexity (what little was left) for hour or so, then it just became a flat flabby plum bomb.
I found this bottle lurking about and long forgotten in my basement a few years back, I probably should have opened it then and there as a reward for finding it. Time has offered this wine no favor and this bottle seemed way past its prime. I am noting 35 bottles still cellared here, I am curious to see if any notes will pop up in the future with positive reviews.
