Saturday, October 5, 2019 - Indianapolis V; 10/4/2019-10/5/2019 (Indianapolis, IN): Served double blind. The nose definitely shows a little bit of brine and olive, but also a nice bit of earth and meatiness. The acidity on the palate is fairly high, and based on that, I guessed 1993 Gevrey. I suppose it's pretty obvious the syrah notes once this was revealed. Surprisingly high acidity and a really nice lightness here; quite different from the modernist beasts that these wines are today. With air the nose did pick up a little bit of coffee as well.
