Sunday, January 1, 2006 - Medium blood colour, slight purplish tinge, no browning and hardly any paler rim. Attractive nose, somewhat dominated by spicy oak, nice cherry fruit and earth beneath. Firm and full flavoured, good minerality, red fruit and oak, with nice fresh acidity. Good length and a nice spicy-sweet redcurrant finish. Good wine, but maybe too heavily oaked for some. ***
