Monday, May 7, 2007 - NobleRottersSydney - Revisiting the '98 cellar (Alio's, Surry Hills): {cork, 13.5%} Remarkably opaque in colour – still black! The nose is tight, closed, a bit smoky. Ripe & powerful, but sullen. The palate gives away lots of chalky tannins, but is otherwise very unyielding. Everything spells potential; this is all anticipation and not much achievement at the moment. Will be very good in the end, I think, but not for some time. Leave in cellar.
