Sunday, September 18, 2011 - Light in color; whether influenced by the visual presence of the label or not, it has the typical "Ridge" nose to me upon first whiff. It has been a while since I had the 2004 and I frankly don't remember enough to compare, but this wine has softened quite a bit, as would be expected given its age. Still has some nice fruit. Missing many of the complexities of the terroir of its French brethren - i.e., garrigues, herb and spice. This wine is more complex on the nose than the palate.
