Friday, May 4, 2012 - Gunpowdery nose with green to yellow fruit with herbs, fennel, coriander leaf, gooseberry jam, lilacs and maccadamia. World famous Krylon spray paints. Those were the days.
Dry and medium bodied palate with slightly oily feel and grainy to steely acidity. Ripe green to yellow fruit with zesty feel and quinine-like bitter character. Spicy finish with salt liquorice and some gunpowder. Good length.
Tasted alongside Leflaive and Coche-Dury BB 09's. And IMO this performed rather well. It wasn't perhaps as serious, but it came across as delightfully open and aromatic, ready to enjoy and easy to relate to. It's no shame to have a wine on the lower steps of the range that can be enjoyed effortlessly. Very nice!
