Friday, November 7, 2014 - Very ashy and flinty aromas. Not getting much of the hazelnut note, but others did comment on it. As I serach more, the hazelnut is definitely on the finish, but not bothering me all that much. To me just 'en fuego' with its smashed rock aromas. Top of its game I imagine right now, not seeing any decline, just on a plateau, I reckon. Yes, some maturity to the palate, but i feel maturity affects fruit a lot more than mineral and this was a lot of mineral to begin with. Wow, lime curd, lime meringue. Hazelnut is still in the wheelhouse, just adding to complexity without overtaking anything. The olde...a little is good, a lot is too much.
