A bit muted and muffled upon opening but opens up with some 30 minutes of decanting. Developing nose showing dark cherry, bruised strawberry, sandal wood, oriental spice, decaying rose, forest floor and some old tyme stable floor. There's also some boring notes of sweetened coffee and coke from the oak.

I was expecting some dense, plush 09-fruit but this is rather sleek, fresh and silky. Medium bodied with medium(+) acidity and medium tannins. Very good intensity of flavors with kind of earthy profile. Bruised strawberry, damp forest floor, decaying leaves, stable, worn leather, oriental spice and cold coffee. Long, lingering finish with some green/stemmy note to the very end.

Entering it's drinking window but I don't think there's any hurry to drink up.
