Friday, December 13, 2013 - Tasted from bottle at the Domaine. A step up compared to the 2007, with the obviously riper vintage shining through. Lovely perfume of ripe red berries, cherry, loam and a hint of tobacco. On the palate this has tons of grip but also very good acidity, providing excellent definition and focus. Whilst quite powerful, the tannins have an elegant and refined side to them, perhaps influenced by the stems. Great balance. Already a classy effort, this will be even better in 8+ years.
