Sunday, January 5, 2020 - Dark red with a bit of umber at edges. Muted nose and tannic on open. Decanted 45 minutes, and it helped. Dark red, purple fruit, prune, stewed but a bit hot on palate. Balance improved and tannin integrated, but overall impression is so so as it is heavy and lacks grace and charm. Might have been better once upon a time, though notes from prior years suggest this is its character.
