88 Points

Saturday, December 29, 2018 - Upon opening there was the faintest hint of wet cardboard, but this blew off with two hours in the decanter. A mustiness was subtley in the background throughout the evening, but it didn't seem like full blown TCA. Fruit was elegant and soft - felt very much like a Haut-Medoc. There was even an austerity to this wine, with fine grained tannins and a nice spicy finish that nodded to its Californian origins. The medium bodied nature of this wine made it lovely with a game pithivier.
