Sunday, June 8, 2014 - Popped and poured. Medium ruby color. Nose of iodine, anise, red raspberry, violets, earthy smells. Young and piquant on the palate with layers of tart red cherry and raspberry driven by nice acidity and anchored in iron and earth notes. Fruit forward and just a touch blowsy but also exhibiting serious tannins. Moderately long finish of cranberry and earth. Very good for a village wine, with room to grow.
