Thursday, May 2, 2013 - Upon opening the wine displayed a subdued nose of berries, but not the barnyard aromas often experienced. On the palette it was immediately obvious that this wine needed some time to open. I put it aside for about 30 minutes. Later the LeClerc Bourgogne surprised me as to how the nose had opened. Along with the obvious berries, a earthy fullness had developed. The wine was beginning to show some of its character with hints of oak and a well-rounded balance. The acidity was not over powering yet still obvious. Enjoyed with friends.
