Friday, August 31, 2012 - Tasted non blind at home over several hours. Decanted for 3 hours before initial taste. Very bright nose with overwhelming floral notes intertwined with dark berries and a hint of exotic spices. The palate is similar with rose petals, spice, black tea, sassafras and a healthy dose of stony earth. Very consistent finish with the spice, sassafras and tea components persisting along with dark berries. Medium-firm tannins but drinking surprisingly well at this stage. I expect this one to evolve into a powdery texture eventually. Very nice effort and while it is showing well now, I would hold for 1-3 years before tasting again.
