Saturday, November 10, 2012 - Decanted about an hour before drinking. Dark ruby with some hints of garnet. Initial showing dark-fruited with vividly fresh black cherries and plums, and a floral component to add interest and complexity. Fruit carries through a very long, lingering finish with nice balancing acidity. Fine-grained tannins are present but not obtrusive. After a couple hours, the fruit is joined by a saddle leather and black tea component. Very nice bottle that's open for business now but promising some interesting development as well.
