Thursday, November 24, 2016 - My first Family Farm and happy to have held. Opened the bottle and smelled spice and red fruit compote maybe some earth and forest tones. No merde. Passed the bottle around to the family: "Anyone smell any merde? No?" Getting to this point I poured a taste and found a structured Pinot, likely from stem inclusion, with dark red fruit, and spice and earth tones just about merging into savory. This had some power but with that Burgundian lightness of body. Bravo! And bravo Rhys for standing behind your wine, giving me the confidence to hold it, despite all the bad bottles, knowing you would make good if it was one of them. Excellent.
