Saturday, March 28, 2015 - PnP. Definitely the best Rhys I have had so far - it's got the signature Rhys green/stemmy notes, but in front of that is a huge portion of sweet fruit - raspberry and blackberry. The fruit is concentrated and almost candied, or jammy without the connotations of heavy ripeness. The fruit blends perfectly in the nose with the common Rhys gingerbread, spice aspect. The nose is crisp and vibrant, with some but richness from the great fruit, but not overbearing in any way. The palate is similar, with the red-blue fruits and delicious spice. The palate also shows excellent drive and vibrancy. These flavors also show in the finish, but here we see more of the Rhys green and stems - showing the tonality of structure. Good now, but probably peak in 3-5. Nose - 5.5/6, Palate - 5.5/6, Finish - 4.5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1.5/2 = 17/20.
