Sunday, June 5, 2011 - PnVnD let air for 2.5hrs. Big oaky plum and cassis aroma. Medium(+) weight ripe polished espresso tannins. Big ripe plum and cassis flavors with dark chocolate and espresso notes. Way too oaky initially but settled down nicely over several hours during dinner. At first I was very disappointed as i have always wanted to try this wine and the oak was too much. Half the bottle is in the vacuum decanter to try again tomorrow - will be interested to see how it is. No score for now.

Day 2 - Charcoal and cassis nose. Plummy cassis flavors. Weak mid-palate. Smoky plum finish. Not a lot of body or richness. Too much wood. Not a great value even at $35-$40.
