Tuesday, June 5, 2012 - Nose of cassis, red and black berries, vanilla, cedar. Dark fruity taste, with chocolate, caramel, some spicy wood. First reaction on the palate is very smooth, sweet, well balanced. The finish is more tannic than the initial taste would lead you to expect. Overall a very nice wine, with the fruitiness of Merlot but the tannin of a Cabernet. The wine grows on you with each sip. Even better the second night. Looking forward to the other three bottles - I'd love to stretch them out over a few years to see if it gets even better, but it will be hard to resist.
