Sunday, April 10, 2011 - Opened for 2 hours prior to drinking. Even after the 2 hours there was still some alcohol on the nose that eventually gave way in the glass to ripe cherry and some earthy tones. Nice rich mouthfeel with well balanced tannins. A hint of smoky bacon hidden below ripe red fruit. Nice finish, but this one should probably sit in the bottle for another year or two at least. I expect my rating to increase dramatically when I come back at that point.
