95 Points

Tuesday, May 10, 2011 - A very dark and dense pour with fresh purple around the rim. Superb aromatics, a display of toasted pistachio, plum, aged balsamic, carrot cake, winter spices, red berries, and a pinch of mint. Medium full body with mild acidity and noticeable alcohol. Very lush and soft on the tongue exposing it's cranberry-pomegranate-dried plum and apricot underbelly. This is wildly aromatic. Flavor may match with some time in the holding cell. Great wine none the less. Update: after it opens up the alcohol dissipates and the acidity is more noticeable. Killer wine!
