Saturday, April 10, 2021 - Decanted for sediment. Dark crimson color. Very oaky upon initial taste but after about 1 hour in the decanter, the wine opened up nicely. Dark black cherry, black currants, a bit of charred wood, vanilla, dark chocolate, slightly floral. Similar flavors on the palate with a ripe fruit and a rich texture. Medium acid and tannin. Long finish. Oak is still a bit more prominent than I would like but overall, a very well made and tasty merlot based blend. Paired great with grilled hangar steak.
