93 Points

Friday, March 1, 2024 - PnP at first. Not open so kept coming back every 30 mins for four hours. No change. Nose is tremendous but fruit is largely gone. Black fruit, medium tannins, medium acid but not much more going on except a long finish that has interesting floral hints. A lot of heat on this and doesn't seem to burn off over time -- bottle states 14.5% but seems higher and per CT discussion with Mark1npt on the 2003 I think again the alcohol is ruling the day. i really wanted to love this but I think it has unfortunately aged out.

3/2/2024 10:07:00 AM - I hope not! I had an issue with the 09 Madrona where the oak never blew off. I will hold this one longer and hope it turns around.
