Saturday, July 11, 2015 - Deep Ruby. Sappy, medium plus intensity nose with ripe cherry and gentle wood spice. On the palate it is dry, medium bodied, with medium to medium plus acidity, round integrated tannin, and a touch of alcohol burn. Flavour attack is cherry and pomegranate, which softens to oak spice at mid-palate, with a medium finish length of smokey wood. This wine is a bit over-powered, such that the initial varietal Pinot aromas are a bit lost on the palate, which brings to mind California Pinot more than Oregon or Burgundy, which is a bit against expectations, and for me, does not justify the price point.
