Sunday, August 21, 2011 - Lovely wine: complex, elegant, and multi-layered. Pure raspberry fruit with hints of cocoa. There is oak, to be sure, but its well-done and not clumsy. Big, bold, and balanced. The finish was cinnamony, but didn't overwhelm the fruit. I enjoyed this quite a bit more than last year, and would consider if good value for the $35 suggested retail, especially if you enjoy the robust RRV style of Pinot.
