92 Points

Saturday, August 23, 2008 - Traci and I opened this wine about 2 hours prior to drinking to accompany a NY Strip with roasted potatoes and broccoli. This wine was terrific in the sense that it reminds you of a classically styled CA/Napa Cabernet. Nice blend of blackberry, currant, tar, cigar box and just a hint of mint. There's nice density to the wine without being overblown. Tannins are ripe and a little chewy. Only knock was at warmer temperatures the wine showed some heat and there was a little bitterness in the finish. If you've got any of these don't be afraid to open one now and decant a couple of hours. Enjoy!
