Wednesday, February 1, 2012 - Pop and pour. nose: sour but ripe dark fruit, spice (coriander, pepper), palate: med-bodied, big and rich dark fruit, licorice, but still has freshness from the acid - softer tannins. The sensation of mouthfilling fruit is present but with finesse. Still young though - a little heat - but still very drinkable. More complex spice (subtle green peppercorn) and mineral components come through to supplement the ripe fruit with a little air and hint to what this can be with some age. Lingering sweetness and anise on the finish. I popped this thinking it would need a day, but very happy at how it's showing after the pop and pour.
