Tuesday, June 30, 2015 - Notes after following for 24 hrs open. Very dark ruby, almost opaque with a garnet rim. Clear and very slow legs, no sediment. Profound aroma. Cherry, violet, lavender, tar, and mature balsamic notes. The prunes of age also become more apparent as it airs out. The palate was pretty rough for the first several hours, before I felt the structure aligned with the bouquet and before I took real notice of the nice acidity that is still holding the wine together. The tannins seemed to keep their light grip from mid-palate through the long finish. A lot of savory, balsamic action going on here. I would like to try again in a year or two. If you don't like aged wines, it may be too late for you already on this. 5+11+16+8= 90
