It has all the round, soft pinot elements that you start to get at this age in a wine, but it lacks nuance, it lacks tannins and it lacks a bit of "otherness" that comes with a 16 year old Burg. In and of itself its a decent wine, but slap the price tag on it and you start thinking "maybe I should have gone for that bottle of £15 Cotes du Rhone instead?"
