In comparing to the 2011, this one felt much more oaked w/ heavy vanilla and less of the brighter fruit from the 2011. That said, this was riper and more concentrated, and probably more of a crowd-pleaser. The fruit did seem fatigued under the oak, so perhaps this was more in balance closer to release. This wine will probably burn out into pure secondary notes (tar, liquorice, etc) in a couple years.
