Saturday, November 21, 2015 - Blackfruit and leather on the nose. Nearly full bodied with exceptional balance. This wine has improved nicely since my last bottle (Nov 2014). Still displays the blackfruit and currant notes, but after being open for two hours ahead of time, the wine seemed to have a bit better balance and the fruit seemed a little bit brighter than last year. I don't get the sense that this wine is fading, but rather that it's opening up and showing its full range of complexity, while retaining the structure and depth. The finish continued to show good length along with very nice earth, leather, minerals and mint. Given where the fruit and structure are today, I would say this wine is at peak and I don't see it's balance or integration being helped by further time. Should continue to show well for 2-3 years at this level.
